Waterloo
University Engineering student Indy Pathmanathan
founded Magick Woods in 1993.
Indy Pathmanathan wanted to manufacture
custom woodworking for individual family
needs. After some extensive research and
visits to a number of well-known showrooms
in Toronto it was evident that the bathroom
vanity products that were available were
limited to knock down types with very few
choices in designs and colors. It was clear
that another option needed to be presented
to customers looking to renovate their bathrooms.
The market was ready for a fully completed
bathroom furniture manufacturer who would
provide a high quality products, quickly
and with plenty of options in designs and
finishes.
With this information Magick Woods was born.
Magick Woods commenced manufacturing in
a 1,400 sq ft facility in 1993. Initially
faced with a challage of selling the concept
of fully fitted bathroom furniture to retailers
as these products required additional space
in the warehouse and showroom. This roadblock
was quickly removed when clients realized
how much easier it is for their customers
to install fully assembled products in their
homes compared to the unassembled versions,
which required time and skill. Customers
looking to renovate embraced the new options
for their bathrooms that allowed them to
get the look they really wanted faster and
at a better price. This was the beginning
of a new era in the bath furniture industry.
Magick Woods vision has always been to produce
a high end product at a competitive price.
To achive this Magick Woods developed the
“European Catalyst finish” and
Magickguard process which produces one of
the best finishes on the market. Magick
Woods continues to invest heavily in research
and development of design, material and
finish.
